Day 1: Departure for Colombia

The D-Day has finally arrived. Departure from France to Colombia.

Day 2: Bogotá, 2,600 meters closer to the stars

Start your experience in Colombia by visiting the capital, Bogotá, and discovering its urban art. Finish the day in style with the atypical Colombian emerald market.
  • After breakfast, visit the historic district of La Candelaria
  • Stroll through the colourful streets filled with graffiti.
  • These graffiti express different types of views about Colombia’s politics, economy, cultural and social situation
  • Your guide, an artist who is the author of the graffiti himself or a person active in the organization of urban art events, will explain all the implications and history of each of the works you will see.
  • Possibility to taste the typical Bogotá dish, el Ajiaco. It is a soup made from 3 different types of potatoes, corn, chicken and guasca, an aromatic herb, accompanied by sour cream, capers, rice and avocado
  • In the afternoon, continuation of the discovery of the city by a walk on Jimenez Avenue, the rue des émeraudes. This is not a trick to buy emeralds but rather to get to know the informality of some of the country’s professions.
  • Emerald is a typically Colombian gemstone, 37% of the world’s emeralds are produced in Colombia.
  • Traders are waiting in the street for gemstone buyers in complete safety. It is a fascinating cultural exchange.

Day 3: In the middle of the Caribbean Sea

Head to one of the jewels of the Caribbean Sea, the superb volcanic islands of Providence
  • After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight Bogotá – San Andres – Providencia
  • Welcome on the main island and arrival at your hotel
  • Two hotel options:
    • Deep Blue Hotel, located by the sea and considered the best on the island
    • Yellow home, a charming house to feel at home in the forest and 15min walk from the sea
  • Night at the hotel

Day 4: The sea and you

The Providence Islands are two volcanic islands located in the Caribbean Sea.
  • After breakfast, take the boat with your captain for the day
  • Discover the main island, then the smallest island of Santa Catalina aboard a chartered boat just for you
  • Explore the surroundings of the island and catch your own fish and enjoy it for lunch.
  • If you can’t do it, it doesn’t matter, your captain will do it for you!
  • Snorkel and marvel at the region’s underwater richness
  • Visit the nearby islets
  • Enjoy the sunset before returning to the hotel
  • Night at the hotel

Day 5: Rest in paradise

Day 6: The Pearl of the Caribbean

You leave this paradisiacal island of the Caribbean to discover their pearl, its most beautiful jewel: Cartagena de Indias

Day 7: Free day in Cartagena

Cartagena de Indias is a beautiful city in the Caribbean. Filled with historic buildings and anecdotes of all kinds, the city will not leave you indifferent

Day 8: The first free slave village

Cartagena de Indias had a key role in the administration of the Spanish empire as well as in the slave trade. The latter, no longer accepting their condition, fled in the 17th century.
  • After breakfast, departure for the city of Palenque, an hour and a half from Cartagena
  • Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2005, the city was founded by Benkos Bioho.
  • The founder was the governor’s slave and fled after getting his master’s wife pregnant.
  • Visit of the village with your guide, a resident of the city.
  • Discover the lifestyle of the Palenqueros and their fascinating history
  • Taste the delicious desserts made with coconut, pineapple, dulce de leche,
  • Return to Cartagena at the end of the day

Day 9: Tayrona Natural National Park

Tayrona Park is a nature reserve with hundreds of endemic animal species and more than 30km2 of maritime area and wild and magnificent beaches

  • Free afternoon to explore the surroundings
  • Mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians live among the park’s inhabitants.

Day 10: The Kogi natives

The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is the highest coastal massif in the world with a peak of 5,775 meters only 42km from the sea. Among its inhabitants, you will meet the Kogi again.
  • After breakfast, you will meet the Kogi, an Amerindian tribe living in the park’s mid-mountain reserves.
  • Exchanges with them, with their way of understanding nature and life
  • Stroll in the Tayronaka reserve and descent by buoy by the Don Diego river to the sea

  • Overnight in a magnificent hotel within the limit of Tayrona Park

Day 11: Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta

Tayrona Park is home to dozens of white sandy beaches with crystal clear seas, accessible by foot or by boat

  • At the end of the day, transfer to the city of Santa Marta

Day 12: The First City of the Americas

Santa Marta, the first city built by the Spanish in South America, was founded on July 29, 1525. Its historical and cultural buildings, as well as its proximity to wonderful beaches, have made this city one of the country’s main ecotourism destinations.
  • After breakfast, discover the city by walking through its narrow streets full of history.
  • Visit the bay of the same name and the sculpture of Pibe Valderrama, Colombia’s most famous football player. He has an impressive blonde-afro hair?
