Day 1: Departure for Colombia

Discover the capital of Colombia, which is after La Paz and Quito, the 3rd highest capital in the world.

- Visit Plaza Bolívar, the central square in the historic centre of Bogotá, bordered by the presidential palace known as the Palacio de Nariño, the Palace of Justice, etc.

Day 3: San Agustin

Day 4: The surroundings of San Agustin
The Alto de las Piedras de Isnos park is a sacred place dedicated to religious ceremonies, it is the 2nd archaeological site in the area.

- Excursion to Salto del Mortiño, a 170-metre waterfall and Salto de Bordones, the 2nd highest waterfall in Latin America with a height of 220 metres
- Discovery of the Estrecho del Magdalena, where Colombia’s most important river is only 2.20 metres wide, due to geological constraints.

Day 5: Popayan, the white city
Nicknamed this way because of its many white buildings.
- Typical breakfast
- Transfer to the city of Popayan
- The best architects and craftsmen of the colonial period worked in Popayán, which, together with Cartagena de Indias, is one of the most important cities in Colombia for its architecture.
- On the way, enjoy the magnificent Páramo, a unique ecosystem of the tropical highlands. It’s the tropical water factory.

Day 6: The coffee region
Colombian coffee is internationally recognized for its incomparable aroma and quality. Discover this magnificent region.
- After breakfast, transfer by private car to the coffee area
- Arrival in a hacienda cafetera, i. e. a colonial house located in a coffee farm
- You will be entirely surrounded by tens of hectares of coffee plantations, the change of scenery is guaranteed.
- Afternoon free to enjoy the hacienda swimming pool or to stroll among the fruit trees and coffee plantations

Day 7: Charming villages
Hidden villages in unique and green landscapes.
- Breakfast
- Visit the village of Cordoba where you will learn a lot about coffee production
- Tasting of the region’s drinks, as well as “chicharron”, the delicious fried pork belly
- Stroll through the picturesque alleys of Pijao, a colonial village hidden among the mountains.
- Visit the Mina coffee farm to enjoy a magnificent view of the hills and the art of making good coffee.
- Night at the hacienda

Day 8: Wax palm and hummingbirds
The coffee region is full of picturesque villages of all colours and majestic valleys with a wide variety of plants and animals.
- A typical breakfast of corn cakes, fresh bread, exotic fruits and eggs
- Early morning departure to a nature reserve known for its great variety of hummingbirds
- Walk of about 5 hours in this hilly region which is full of water and you guessed it, hummingbirds
- Possibility to do, instead, another walk of 1 or 2 hours maximum
- Arrival at the Cocora Valley, cradle of the national tree: the wax palm tree. These trees, which seem to defy the sky, rise to a height of more than 70 metres
- Typical lunch in one of the best restaurants in the region
- A jeep ride in Willis, an all-terrain vehicle from the 1940s, widely used in the region to get to Salento
- Visit Salento, known as the village of 1000 colours and one of the most beautiful villages in Colombia. Surrounded by mountains and filled with balcony houses, it will transport you to another era
- Plant a wax palm tree to help reforest this endangered tree. It was widely used to extract wax and make candles from it, but it is now a protected species
- At the end of the day, return to your home in the coffee farm
- Night at the hacienda

Day 9: The incredible Salt Cathedral
- Breakfast
- Transfer to the airport to catch your flight back to Bogotá
- Reception at the airport and transfer by private car to Zipaquirá
- Discovery of the salt cathedral. A former mine converted into a place of worship, it has a beautiful collection of salt and marble sculptures.
- It has been called the architectural jewel of modernity.
- Visit of the village of Raquira, nationally recognized for its artisanal terracotta products
- Night in Villa de Leyva

Day 10: Villa de Leyva
A small mountain town known for its colonial architecture. Its immense paved central square and the buildings surrounding it are inscribed on the Colombian Heritage List.
- Breakfast
- Guided tour of Villa de Leyva to visit the Antonio Nariño Museum, Calle Caliente, its incredible main square, etc.
- The city is known to have been the final resting place of Antonio Nariño, leader of the independence movement who translated the Declaration of Human Rights into Spanish.
- Afternoon free to stroll through the charming cobbled streets of the city.
- Night in Villa de Leyva

Day 11: The cradle of national independence
Discover the magnificent road between the departments of Boyacá with a green landscape and Santander, cradle of the Chicamocha Canyon.

- Visit of the village of Socorro, a very important village in the history of Colombia because it is here that the country’s independence movement began in 1781

Day 12: Barichara, the most beautiful village in Colombia
The cobbled streets, white houses, its huge stone cathedral that turns orange under the sun’s rays and the peaceful atmosphere of the place give Barichara an undeniable charm.

- Guane is known in the region for its large collection of marine fossils dating back more than 60 million years

Day 13: Chicamocha Canyon
Covering an area of 10,000 hectares and crossed by the river of the same name, the Chicamocha Canyon is the largest in Latin America and the deepest in the world.
